Impartial advice
Honest guidance from the builder's point of view — with no financial interest in the project, so the advice is yours alone.
After forty years in the trade — thirty of them running Gavin Giddings Refurbishments — I now offer impartial advice to anyone taking on a project. No financial interest, no agenda: just experience on your side.
My name is Gavin Giddings. After forty years — thirty of them running Gavin Giddings Refurbishments — I now offer advice to people undertaking projects, from the builder's point of view.
Because I no longer have any financial interest in the work, I can stay completely impartial. I advise, mediate, and uncomplicate plans and situations. Done early, that prevents problems; done later, I can resolve them — and either way it usually saves money, or makes better use of the money you have.
I'll also help you liaise with your builders, designers and architects, so everyone is pulling in the same direction.
Gavin Giddings40 years in refurbishment & building
Whether you're planning a refurbishment, midway through one, or weighing up a property to buy, a builder's-eye view can save you time, money and a great deal of worry.
Honest guidance from the builder's point of view — with no financial interest in the project, so the advice is yours alone.
A calm voice between you and your builders, designers and architects — resolving disagreements before they cost you.
Cutting through confusion in plans and situations, so decisions become clear and the work runs smoothly.
Thinking of buying? I'll visit with you beforehand to ball-park the likely costs, so you can make an offer with eyes open.
Reviewing specifications drawn up by others, and advising on what they really mean for cost, quality and timing.
An expert eye on workmanship and methods throughout — keeping standards high on projects where I'm not the contractor.
For thirty years I quoted, won and ran the work. Now I sit on your side of the table — and that changes everything.
I've kept our original contractor's work here, so you can see the sort of projects that shaped the advice I give today.
I advise, mediate and uncomplicate. Done early, it prevents problems. Done later, it solves them — and usually saves money either way.
